CAOS for Institutions · Bespoke engagement

Build an institution that can defend how it teaches.

Portfolio strategy, course architecture, staff capability and owned learning infrastructure for institutions that need a portfolio to earn as well as teach.

Bespoke scope · Proposal after framing

The methodology

Six research pillars.

Learning science first. Applied practice last. Every decision has a place in the system.

CAOS · The film

Watch course architecture take shape.

A short film about the decisions that sit before content: learning science, cognitive psychology, attention, structure and the work of turning them into a course. The cut is currently in edit. The finished film will drop directly into this player when it is ready.

The institutional design problem

Quality needs a system it can travel through.

The engagement begins where institutional standards usually break: across programmes, people, review cycles and platforms. Open each field for the working response.

The engagement architecture

From portfolio diagnosis to internal capability.

The sequence is adapted to the institution, while the logic remains consistent. Evidence becomes standards, standards become practice and practice becomes a repeatable operating system.
01

Frame

Define the portfolio, programmes, teams and decisions inside the engagement boundary.

02

Diagnose

Audit representative programmes, evidence, learner journeys and current design practice.

03

Set standards

Translate the six CAOS pillars into practical institutional design principles and instruments.

04

Build capability

Train internal course architects through live programmes, workshops and design clinics.

05

Deploy

Redesign priority programmes and install the platform layer where it supports the work.

06

Govern

Establish ownership, review cycles, measures and a documented handover for the internal team.

What the engagement leaves behind

Evidence, standards, capability and governance.

The work is designed to remain useful after Academic Method leaves. Open each output to see what becomes part of the institution's operating system.

Four engagement tracks

Use the parts the institution needs.

The work can focus on a non-degree revenue line, a portfolio, a group of course teams or the delivery platform itself. Larger engagements join all four into one transformation programme.
Scope is set through an initial conversation and a short framing exercise. The proposal names the programmes, people, outputs, governance and platform responsibilities before work begins.

The handover

Internal teams carry the method forward.

Course architects, faculty and programme teams leave with shared language, working instruments and clear governance. Platform deployments remain on the institution's domain with institutional ownership of data and hosting.

Institutional engagement

Built around the portfolio.

Investment depends on the number of programmes, team size, delivery period and platform requirements. Longer transformation partnerships are scoped separately.

Institutional enquiry

Start with the portfolio and the pressure.

Tell us which programmes are in scope, what has created the need for change and who needs to carry the method after the engagement. We will propose the most useful starting point.
